"The Master's Wife" original copy is in a cloth bound blue cover of 246 pages. The book dictates about Sir Andrew Macphail's home life on the farm in Orwell providing a lasting insight into 19th century Island life, it was published in 1939 by the Gnoedinger Printing Company, Montreal. Dedicated "To Jeffrey and Dorothy good children". This novel was written as a memoir to his mother, Catherine Moore Smith, wife of schoolmaster William MacPhail, and published after his death by his son, Jeffery and daughter, Dorothy.
