Shooting Cane Seat - Cardigan River Heritage Centre
Artefact History:
Commonly used while hunting, this cane was a great asset. While in the woods you could quietly rest on your cane seat while waiting for your desired pray to stray into your path.
Whenever you wished to have a seat you simply unscrew the round cylinder disc on the side of the cane next to the handle and screw it on the bottom of the cane. This provided a more flat surface so that your cane did not sink into the ground. You then simply pulled the handle apart and pushed them flat to make a seat.
