Keir Memorial Museum
The Keir Memorial Museum located in the community of Malpeque in western Prince Edward Island is housed in the former Keir Memorial Presbyterian Church which was built in 1927 and closed in 1923.
The museum is rich in artifact displays depicting the cultural life of Malpeque and surrounding districts. These include memorabilia and furnishings from local homesteads, farming and oyster fishing implements, and items illustrating the 200-year commercial life of Princetown-Malpeque.
Of special interest is an 1887 horse-drawn hearse, and a mussel mud digger. The museum also hosts a series of lectures on Island and local history during the summer season.
