Prince Edward Island Potato Museum
The Prince Edward Island Potato Museum is located in the community of O'Leary in the western part of the Island. It is surrounded by fertile potato growing fields where the humble potato has played an important role in the economy for many years.
The museum depicts the interesting history of the potato industry and houses a large collection and exhibits of farm implements/machinery related to the growing/harvesting of potatoes. In fact, the museum contains one of the largest exhibit of potato artefacts in the world!
In 1999 a major expansion was constructed to accommodate the Potato Hall of Fame, the extraordinary national Amazing Potato Exhibit, a New Machinery Gallery and the Community Museum of O'Leary.
There are also other attractions on site such as the Heritage Chapel, the Log Barn and the Little Red Schoolhouse and the Telephone Office.
